At STRIDE we believe strongly that our clients benefit tremendously from participating in therapeutic riding activities. Because we see the huge strides toward greater independence that our clients make each summer during our eight-week program, we feel that the time has come to grow STRIDE into a year round program. And to do that successfully, we need your help!

We desperately need more funding and community support in order to expand our program. We currently serve just twenty clients each summer, and every summer our waiting list grows longer. Our ultimate goal is to serve up to 200 clients year round.

If you would like to contribute funds to help us achieve our goal, you can make contributions to STRIDE using a credit card by clicking on the Network for Good logo on any page. Or if you prefer to send a check, please print and complete our Donor Information Form and mail it along with your contribution.

Here are just some of the other ways that you can help STRIDE offer therapeutic riding services to disabled members of our community year round:

  • Become a side-walker or mount leader
  • Provide pro-bono professional services
  • Assist with fundraising activities
  • Donate a horse
  • Sponsor a horse or a rider
  • Donate tack, office supplies, or other items on our Wish List
  • Contribute funding or materials toward specific program development projects on our Wish List

Please review our Volunteer page to learn more about available volunteer opportunities. If you don't have time to volunteer, but still want to help STRIDE, please see our Wish List for our current needs.

Well-Being

Riding a horse poses a significant challenge to any individual in that it requires a tremendous degree of integration and balance of the mind, body, and spirit.

For this reason, equitation is often regarded as more of an art form than a sport.

Riders of every age and level of ability often speak of the heightened sense of well-being they achieve through riding. We see it in the faces of our clients every day!
